SITIO FOUNDING PRINCIPAL ANTONIO FIOL-SILVA RECEIVES HARBESON AWARD
SITIO Founding Principal, Antonio Fiol-Silva, received the prestigious John Frederick Harbeson Award from the Philadelphia Chapter of the American Institute of Architects (AIA). This award is presented to a long-standing member of the architectural community recognizing significant career contributions to the architectural profession, the AIA, the education of the architectural community, and contributions to the Philadelphia community at large.
Antonio's achievements include multiple local and national AIA and ULI design awards. He has played crucial roles in the Urban Land Institute, serving as a Global Governing Trustee, juror for the ULI Global Awards of Excellence, and District Council Chair of the Philadelphia ULI Chapter. He has also served as President of AIA Philadelphia and President of the Center for Architecture. Antonio is highly sought after for his guidance and expertise, serving or having served multiple Boards and Commissions including: the Association for Public Art, the Delaware River Port Authority, the Philadelphia Historical Commission, the Center City Development Corporation, and the Governor's Advisory Commission on Latino Affairs.
As Founding Principal of SITIO, Antonio has created a platform for design excellence, providing hands-on leadership and mentorship across various project scales, from architecture to urban planning. His commitment to excellence has led to the successful completion of complex high-rise towers and socially impactful projects in Philadelphia and across the country.

SITIO RECEIVES AIA PENNSYLVANIA SILVER MEDAL AWARD
SITIO was thrilled to receive the 2023 AIA Pennsylvania Silver Medal for Architectural Excellence in Design Award for the 2500 League Island Boulevard building. Developed by Gattuso Development Partners, this 130,000 sf life sciences GMP manufacturing facility is focused on serving production needs while offering an imageable presence. Uniquely located off I-95 with close proximity to the Philadelphia International Airport and Center City, 2500 League Island Boulevard stands to build on the revitalization of the Navy Yard and its history as a place of production and innovation.

'THE CLARK' FEATURED IN PHILADELPHIA MAGAZINE
SITIO's multi-family residential project, 'The Clark,' has been recently showcased in Philadelphia Magazine – find the full story here. This University City project comprises 327 units and is situated on the same block as the grand West Catholic Preparatory High School. Developed by EQT Exeter and built by Intech Construction, the building opened to its first residents this fall.








GROUND BREAKING AT THE JOHNNY SAMPLE RECREATION CENTER
The Johnny Sample Recreation Center has officially broken ground kicking off the start of construction! Located in West Philadelphia along the historic Cobbs Creek, this project will transform the facility into a rejuvinated and flexible community hub through extensive renovation and an addition. Developed by the Fairmount Park Conservancy for the City of Philadelphia’s Rebuild initiative, the new center will stand as a beacon of light in the neighborhood, combining transparency and daylight with community programs for both children and adults. The updated recreation center will offer multiple indoor and outdoor amenities that reconnect the community and this uniquely bucolic park with access to trails alongside the creek.









SITIO FINDS THE COMMON THREAD ON PARK(ing) DAY
SITIO created an interactive and informative exhibit as part of Philadelphia’s annual PARK(ing) Day Festival. This city-wide celebration transforms metered parking spaces into temporary public parks re-imagining the possibilities of 160 square feet of public space. SITIO’s prominent display on Rittenhouse Square exhibited a social and interactive physical mapping of visitors’ enthusiastic opinions in effort to find the City’s common thread. Connecting color-coded thread to dedicated portals, the SITIO team stitched 70 results together which revealed {….drumroll}:

SITIO SUBMITS 14-STORY PROJECT IN NASHVILLE
On behalf of EQT Exeter, SITIO has submitted a 385-unit, 14 story multi-family project for development in the vibrant city of Nashville, Tennessee. Located at 531-533 Lafayette Street, this well positioned Pie Town location is steps from the Country Music Hall of Fame and will contribute to the recent growth in the SoBro district. This project was recently featured as a cover-page story in the Nashville Post and the Nashville Business Journal.

Developed by EQT Exeter and built by CBG Building Company, The Astrid establishes a premiere, lush urban-living experience inside the prominent capital beltway region.
THE CHESTNUT AT UNIVERSITY CITY/ PENN DREXEL NEWMAN CENTER WIN A ULI PHILADELPHIA AWARD FOR EXCELLENCE
SITIO’s two-pronged project - The Chestnut at University City and The Penn Drexel Newman Center has received a ULI Philadelphia Award for Excellence. The multi-faceted project is the product of a private/institutional partnership between EQT Exeter and the associated institutional entities that support the Penn/Drexel Newman Center - the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and the Parish of St. Agatha - St. James.
The project consists of a sensitively integrated complex of interconnected mixed-use buildings and courtyards that weave together with the adjacent Penn and Drexel University campuses and University City - both the new 30-story/405-unit tower of The Chestnut and the adaptive re-use of the historic buildings that house the Newman Center and the Parish of St. Agatha - St. James.
This biennial award represents the highest standards of achievement in the development industry and recognizes outstanding and transformational land use developments, best practices, and creative visioning. Learn more about the project here and at ULI Philadelphia.
